The James Baldwin Community Action Group needs your support!

What: We are the James Baldwin Community Action Group and we are D.C. bound! Over February break, we will travel with ten of our fellow students and three teachers to Washington D.C., where we will work with Habitat for Humanity. In order to do this, we need your support.
Purpose: It is central to our mission to extend our core values beyond the walls of our school. We are constantly asking deep questions about issues of inequity, but we are looking for the opportunity to go further and put our minds and hearts into action. We have already started to meet on Fridays, where we plan on studying the housing crisis here in New York and partnering with organizations like The Right to the City Campaign, Picture the Homeless and Community Voices Heard. Our volunteer trip to D.C. will help us make connections to the national housing landscape. While in D.C., we will contribute to the construction of affordable housing and meet with other organizations taking action around the issue of housing.
How to Support: We are seeking financial support for our volunteer trip. The total cost per student will be approximately $400. We will raise a fourth of the expenses ourselves.   We need your help with the remainder.
Sincerely,
Students of James Baldwin School Community Action Group
